Information
The
current trend in the pipeline industry is to capture new markets that have
not been accessible in the past. In order to capture these markets pipeline
companies have seen the need to convert from their traditional service to
meet the new demands. The changes may be as simple as changing from a liquid
to gas service and or changing the direction of flow.
NiGen International has the staff and experience to help
pipeline companies capture these new markets in a safe and economical manner.
NiGen International can help develop procedures for the commissioning and
decommissioning of pipelines, station facilities, and other petrochemical
related installations. NiGen International has successfully completed both
onshore and offshore projects for major pipeline companies.
The projects have ranged from 1 to 1,100 pipeline miles
with sizes ranging from 2" to 36"; past projects have traversed terrain
from -5,000' subsea level to elevations of 7,000' plus. The nitrogen
used for the displacement of the pipelines may range from a purity of 95%
up to 99.5%. The purity will vary depending on the customers specific requirements
and/or the needs of the particular product to be displaced. As an example
the purity required to displace an ethylene pipeline (99%+) would be
greater than that of a crude oil pipeline (94%-98%).
NiGen International has the capacity to supply on-site membrane generated nitrogen
(often in remote locations) with a 94% -99.5%
purity range with moisture contents of -60 to -90ºF dew point. Membrane generated nitrogen
has proven to be a very cost-effective way of commissioning or decommissioning
pipelines where large volumes of nitrogen are required. In some remote locations
the traditional liquid nitrogen supply may not be a desirable option, in
these situations NiGen International is ready to fulfill your requirements.
